Where Apex comes from
Operational understanding, applied to real buildings
Apex Fire & Risk Consultancy was founded by Declan Patterson, a former operational Fire & Rescue Service professional with experience in incident command and fire investigation.
That experience brings a practical perspective on how fires develop and how people and buildings can be affected in real conditions. It informs the way Apex looks at each premises: how it is used, who may be at risk, and how its layout, fire precautions and day-to-day arrangements work together.
Apex provides independent fire risk assessments, fire door inspections and DSEAR advice. Each assessment or inspection is shaped around the premises and its circumstances. Findings are explained clearly, with practical recommendations to help those responsible understand the risks, decide what needs attention, and manage their fire safety responsibilities.
The aim is to help organisations make informed decisions that protect people and support safer buildings. Advice is independent and tailored to the situation, with no installation or remedial work for sale.
